Nothing like ending the day with a pie in the face (or two)! Congratulations to our middle school students who met their PTO Coin War Fundraising goal and as a result were able to watch (and participate) as Mr. Leonard received pies in the face. Great job middle school!

The Biology class attended a field trip at Haskell Ag Lab on April 10. The students rotated through sessions and enhanced their learning by examining soil types, touring the arboretum, discussing relationships in ecosystems, and comparing pollinators. The sessions were led by employees of UNL and Lower Elkhorn NRD.

The LCC School Board of Education approved the 2024-2025 school calendar at its regular meeting on Monday, April 8, 2024. The most significant difference from the current school year calendar relates to the frequency and duration of scheduled professional development for school staff.  The weekly Wednesday early release for PD has been modified to an every other week schedule, resulting in an average of two early dismissals per month. Accordingly, the early dismissal time has also been adjusted for the upcoming school year with a 1:10 pm early dismissal as compared to this year's 2:00 pm dismissal. Consideration was given to a Late Start model for professional development, however, feedback from various patron groups was not favorable.  Specific plans will be developed to provide After-School care opportunities for families, as well as a targeted plan for high school and junior high activities and practices. Use this link to access the 2024-2025 school calendar: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bgseqYsNWxYKnorW3SGnKYUD7Yb6nbm3/view?usp=drive_link The new school calendar is also accessible on the school district website at www.lccschool.org.
