It’s that time of the year again where people are getting sick left and right. There are some preventative measures you can take, though if you want to avoid getting sick, or make the sickness less severe. One of the most important steps in staying healthy is making sure you are drinking enough water. The FDA recommends around 11-15 cups of water a day. Another way you can keep the sickness away is by washing your hands when you can, or using hand sanitizer if you can’t. Every time you use the bathroom, touch a doorknob, or touch something that might be contaminated you should wash your hands. Instead of not covering your mouth when you cough or coughing into your hands, you should cough into the inside part of your arm. This prevents the spread of germs in the first case. Finally, if you are feeling under the weather, you should drink plenty of hot liquids, including but not limited to, herbal teas, hot chocolate, and apple cider.
